Private practice in Potsdam-Babelsberg

Medicine with room for the why

Many symptoms can be treated. That still leaves open the question of what they might be connected to. In my practice there is time for it. Consultations in English and German.

Two questions that belong together

What is happening now?

Your symptoms, your findings, the treatment you are already having. That is the starting point — and it stays the foundation.

And what came before?

I also ask about what lies further back: psychological, physical and environmental burdens. Openly — I do not assume a connection, I ask about one.

Stance

The diagnosis matters. So does the question why.

Controlling symptoms is one medical route, and for many people the right one. Asking what they might be connected to is another. In my practice the two stand side by side.

I start with what is here today: your symptoms, the findings you already have, your diagnoses and current treatment. In taking your history I also ask about burdens that lie further back or are still going on. That is an open question, not an explanation decided in advance.

Three areas I ask about

Psychological

Which times were hard? Sustained stress, losses, periods of life that cost you a great deal.

Physical

What has your body been through? Illnesses, injuries, operations, phases of heavy strain.

Environmental

What surrounds you day to day? Your home and working environment, how well you tolerate foods and materials, and how you have eaten over the years.

About me

“Listening, for me, is the first part of diagnosis.”

I am Franziska Gite, a licensed physician with five years of osteopathic training and further education in fasting and nutritional medicine. Before I became a doctor I stood on stage as a professional dancer – ever since, I have known from my own experience what bodies are capable of and what they need. After years in hospital and practice, I now run a practice in Potsdam-Babelsberg of the kind I would want as a patient myself: thorough, unhurried, and with an eye for the person behind the values.
